Thick fog over southern suburbs of Athens

Thick fog "enveloped" many areas in Attica today. Fog is over southern suburbs of Athens since yesterday.


The "wave" of fog lingered over Piraeus, Voula, Vari, Glyfada yesterday evening.

According to meteorologists, this type of mist is called evaporation fog and is caused by combination of cold air and warm waters.

The phenomenon is not expected to persist.

It's been years that this phenomenon hasn't appeared in Attica.
