Greece: Unemployment reaches 27.5% in December
Hellenic Statistical Authority announced that the unemployment rate was at 27.5% in December.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in December 2013 stood at 27.5% compared to 26.3% in December 2012 and 27.6% in November 2013.
The number of employed people in December 2013 rose to 3,555,034, of unemployed 1,349,495, while the economically inactive population reached 3,388,927.
The number of employed decreased by 99,226 people compared to December 2012 (-2.7%) and 5,418 people compared to November 2013 (-0.2%).
The number of unemployed increased by 48,551 people compared to December 2012 (+3.7%) and decreased by 10,864 people compared to November 2013 (-0.8%).
