Crimea: 97% of voters support union with Russia
The percentage of the voters who vote in favor of the annexation with Moscow was bigger than the exit polls predicted.
According to official results, 97% of voters want the annexation to Russia, while the voter turnout reached 83,1% (1,274,096).
Russia "welcomed" the result. Today, Russian newspapers refer to the referendum of Crimea with headlines as, "Glory in Crimea" and "Whether they like or not, we are happy" says Izvestia newspaper.
The European Union does not recognize the referendum, while Canada and Japan have also expressed their disagreement with this process.
