The government sinks in... milk!
Agony and severe concern in the government camp in view of the critical votes on the adoption of the agreement with the troika.
The phones are ringing constantly, as acolytes of the Prime Minister and the Ev. Venizelos sound out the intentions of the Members of the coalition.
So far the news ... arriving at the Maximou and Char. Trikoypi is not positive and not excluded in the coming days the two political leaders to take action, perhaps by converging of the parliamentary party groups.
Already, Samaras and Venizelos sent a message via Sunday newspapers to members of their parties for the difficult legislative battle which the government is facing.
The potential "rebels" from ND and PASOK will be invited by the staffs at Maximou & Haril Trikoypi to clarify their intentions after they will be briefed on the exact wording that relates to the setting for the milk.
Cycles of the Maximou indicate that in such parliamentary battles is about self-evident the principle of party discipline...
The process in the parliament as all shows will not be completed before the next Sunday - some even believe that the agreement may be voted even Monday eve of the Eurogroup that will unlock the installments due in Greece.
The man, according to all parliamentary estimation, who leads the “rebels”, is none other than the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Maximus Charakopoulos, who neither yesterday clarified what he will do; while speaking in people from his constituency in Larissa insisted that he is not going to retreat, unless seen that in the final text of the agreement there will be no arrangements that will affect milk producers.
The government though, has already agreed with the troika, which means that it is not easy to make special arrangements.
The arguments of K. Chatzidaki for distortions in the milk market and high prices of the product (Greece is the third most expensive country in Europe), did not convince the ND's Members I.Tzamtzi, G. Vlachos and the PASOK's Members Th. Moraitis, N. Sifunakis and M. Kassi who are warning that they will not vote.
Counting beans...
The government has begun to make calculations for the vote looking for Andreas Loverdos and Chris Aidonis as to independent MPs among them P. Tatsopoulos, M. Androulakis, and G. Ntavris.
If the "rebels" insist ... then it is obvious that the government goes on adventures and might sink in a ... tablespoon of milk!
