Public transportation disruptions on Wednesday
The Athens public transportation system and the railway network will be disrupted on Wednesday, during the 24-hour general strike called by ADEDY and GSEE umbrella trade unions of workers in the public and private sectors, respectively.
Commuters and passengers are alerted, that workers at the railway, the Athens Suburban Railway and the trolley buses of Athens, will participate in Wednesday's general strike according to ANA-MPA. On the other hand, the metro railway system, the electric railways and the tram will operate normally, as their workers remain mobilized by government decree. Nevertheless, the metro system will be ending service at the Doukissis Plakentias station.
Thermal buses will only be in service between 09:00 a.m. and 09:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while airports are expected to operate without incident, after air traffic controllers finally decided to abort their participation in the general strike.
