'No one will lose his house if Potami is strong' Theodorakis says
Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis in an interview with ANA-MPA webTV said he was against the Uniform Real Estate Ownership Tax (ENFIA) and the primary residence foreclosures as well as the mass layoffs in the public sector.
At the same time, he said he was in favor of lower ‘objective’ property values (which are used for tax purposes), the gradual support of low income earners, the drastic cut of political parties’ funding and the abolition of tax and pension benefits for deputies;
“If someone has a primary residence but no other property, he can’t possibly pay an ENFIA tax,” he said. He also referred to the VAT rate saying “taxes should be permanent” and added that “today, the state has no reason to go ahead with mass layoffs.”
