Tourism is a national matter, says Alt.Tourism Minister Kountoura

Kountoura said that the Tourism ministry has planned and implemented a national tourism policy which has born fruits and noted that tourism is a national matter. "That is how we see it and it must be left out from petty politics attacks."

Greece is currently the most attractive and competitive destination in the wider region. It offers a unique and original product that we consistently upgrade and enrich, she noted and referred to the main points of the strategy implemented.

-The extension of the tourism season

-the cooperation with the 13 regions on their tourist development

-the promotion of the Greek tourism and the alternative forms of tourism

-the promotion of new Greek destinations

-the opening to new markets

-the upgrade of the quality of the tourist products and services

-the development of the luxury tourism with aim the direct increase of revenues per visitor

-the upgrading of the tourist reception infrastructures as ports, airports, marinas

-the upgrading of the administrative organisation that will supervise the tourism policy
