Large fire burning in western Crete
A large wildfire broke out around the harbor of Phalasarna in Kissamos, in the regional unit of Chania on Tuesday afternoon, the fire department said.
Five firefighting vehicles with 10 men are battling the flames and more forces are on their way from all around Crete to assist.
The fire department said strong southerly winds in the area are hindering their efforts.
It is not yet known what started the blaze.
