Greek gov't, institutions begin talks on second review of Greek program
Greek authorities and the institutions officially began negotiations on a second review of the Greek program on Friday (21/10), with a meeting between Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos and the heads of the technical staff of the institutions.
The meeting will focus on a new privatization fund and state arrears to the private sector. Today's agenda of talks also include issues related with education, corruption and energy which will be discussed with related ministers.
The Greek government's economic team seeks to conclude negotiations on a second review of the program by December 5, when a Eurogroup meeting is scheduled, to pave the way for decisions on debt relief and the country's inclusion in an ECB's QE program and the participation of the IMF in the program. Completion of a second review of the program will also disburse a loan tranche worth 6.1 billion euros.
