Pavlopoulos: Greece can look at the future with optimism
"Greece, with the contribution of all the democratic political forces, who have proved they can stay united in important issues, can now look at the future with optimism," Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos said on Friday in a conference organised by "Nouvel Observateur" magazine and the Greek National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce.
"The deep and prolonged global economic crisis is a risk but also a challenge for the EU," Pavlopoulos warned and explained that "this crisis may hinder the course of the EU towards its completion."
Pavlopoulos referred to the issue of debt and asked to take into serious consideration French President Emmanuel Macron's proposal.
He also said stressed the importance of changing the ESM into a real European Monetary Fund.
