President Sakellaropoulou receives visiting UAE president
President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Thursday received visiting United Arab Emirates' President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the presidential mansion in Athens. She congratulated him on recently taking over his new office and highlighted the importance of the bilateral cooperation development between Greece and the UAE in recent years, as well as the margins for enhancing this further.
"Greece sees in the UAE an important strategic partner, while whom we have built a lasting friendship, which is based on our common vision for peace, security and prosperity in the wider region," she said.
The UAE president, on his part, thanked her for her kind reception and hospitality and noted that in spite of the coronavirus pandemic, trade transactions between the two countries increased by 17 pct.
