Police officer who shot on the head 16yo charged for attempted murder

A 32-year-old police officer who shot on the head and seriously injured a 16-year-old in Thessaloniki, is facing charges for attempted murder. The police officer, member of the special team DIAS, was sent on Tuesday to the prosecutor who pressed charges against him and will testify to Thessaloniki examining magistrate.

The suspect is expected to ask for extra time to apologise and until then he will remain in custody.

A strong police force is outside and inside the Court Building of Thessaloniki to prevent any violence.
