We are protecting primary residences, Tsapanidou says

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Popi Tsapanidou on Wednesday spoke of the party's proposal for a new legislative framework "that will protect primary residences from foreclosure, will protect households and put an end to the current chaos with the excessive private debt."

Tsapanidou was speaking to public broadcaster ERT regarding the party's proposal for the protection of primary residences, business properties and agricultural land, which was presented on Tuesday.

"Alexis Tsipras said yesterday that he will restructure private debt, which in four years of the Mitsotakis government has increased by 40 billion euros. He will restructure the landscape for the 4.2 million borrowers unable to pay their debts, whether these are to the public sector or to the banks. Right now there are one million seized bank accounts," she said.
