Velopoulos protests warns of legal steps against media alluding to his party as 'far-right'
Elliniki Lysi (Greek Solution) leader Kyriakos Velopoulos on Wednesday called on the media to stop representing his party as belonging to "the spectrum of far-right ideology" and announced plans to take legal action.
"We strongly protest the above arbitrary and malicious representation of our political party as being in the spectrum of "far- right" ideology, in a way that constitutes a direct insult both to the reputation and - in particular - to the parliamentary-democratic status of our party.
"We invite you to refrain in the future, as well as to prevent your guests, from any malicious attempt to present our political party as belonging to the spectrum of "far-right ideology," he said, and added: "We declare that we will defend our legal rights, having recourse to justice and the competent authorities, for the illegal damage to the reputation and the parliamentary-democratic status of our party."
