Skertsos: The recovery of the investment grade has multiple benefits for Greece
Minister of State Akis Skertsos cited the multiple benefits for our country from the recovery of the investment grade, in his statement to the newspaper "To Vima" on Sunday.
Benefits for citizens, especially the most vulnerable, benefits for businesses and banks, benefits for the state, he stated.
More specifically, he said that "the recovery of the investment grade after 13 years means a lot, both in the field of economy and politics. In practice, the country's creditworthiness leads to lower borrowing costs for the state itself, Greek banks and, by extension, households and businesses."
On the other hand, "we all realize how important these savings are for social spending and supporting the most vulnerable in an international environment of increased interest rates and high inflation. In addition, this conquest automatically puts the Greek economy on the radar of foreign institutional investors. This is a necessary condition in order to attract even more foreign investments and to definitively close the investment gap of the more than ten-year crisis," Skertsos said.
