Androulakis meets with Chancellor Scholz in Malaga on Sat.
PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday, on the sidelines of the 2023 Congress of the Party of European Socialists (PES) that is being held in Malaga, Spain on Nov. 10-11.
In their approximately 40 minutes-long meeting, they reportedly exchanged views on matters of the economy, migration, Western Balkans and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The German chancellor underlined that he is following the dynamic presence of PASOK-Movement of Change (KINAL) in the most recent [Greek] electoral contests, it was noted in an announcement.
"We agreed that in the next European elections the goal is a strong social democracy, victorious against populism, nationalism and conservatism", said Androulakis.
And this because "European peoples are experiencing a new economic crisis, inequalities and fewer jobs," he added, and "a comprehensive, progressive plan with common financial tools is therefore needed to serve convergence, social justice and a welfare state for all."
This is what "we advocate and want to implement for the Europe of the people - not for a Europe of injustices, of inequalities, of low prospects and low expectations for the younger generations", Androulakis underlined.
