Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis met with his counterpart of Israel Eli Cohen at the Israeli foreign ministry on Thursday.
The Greek minister had earlier in the day concluded a round of meetings in Ramallah, where he had met with his Palestinian Authority counterpart Riyad al-Maliki and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.
Gerapetritis was briefed on the latest developments in the region and the views of the Palestinian leadership, said Greek diplomatic sources on Thursday evening. The Greek minister reiterated his proposal for a humanitarian pause and the ways Greece can contribute to facilitate humanitarian corridors in Gaza for the undisturbed provision of basic goods such as water, foods, pharmaceuticals and medical services, as well as for the restoration of basic damaged infrastructures - such as water and electricity networks, sources added.
In his meeting with Cohen, Gerapetritis discussed the situation in the region and relayed the Palestinian side's concerns about the worsening humanitarian crisis, sources added.
The same sources pointed out that Greece remains a reliable and honest interlocutor of all parties, and will continue the effort, at all levels, for the most immediate relief of civilians and victims of the armed conflict.
