Sunak's decision was wrong and politically an impropriety, gov't sources say
According to sources, the Greek government expressed strong annoyance over the abrupt cancellation of a meeting on Tuesday between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, just hours before it was arranged to take place.
As they said, the decision was wrong and a politically impropriety. The meeting was scheduled and apparently, the British Prime Minister had been irritated by what Mitsotakis said to the BBC, which, however, was no different from what he has said before and reflected standing Greek positions.
In any case, they underlined that the issue does not concern the British government, but the British Museum, "with whom we will continue our discussions".
