Kikilia's recommendations for snow chains in mountainous areas due to severe weather
The weather is expected to deteriorate with rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the mountainous areas of Greece, as well as in the semi-mountainous areas of northern and western Greece on Monday and Tuesday. Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias, recommended that “throughout the holidays, carry anti-slip chains if you are travelling mainly in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas. Take care and have a great holiday season for you and your families."
According to a weather bulletin issued by the National Weather Service, the weather will deteriorate on Monday and Tuesday with locally heavy rain, thunderstorms mainly in marine and coastal areas, locally gusty winds in the sea, and snowfall in the mountains and occasionally in semi-mountainous areas of central and northern Greece, mainly in the northwest.
