Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change party leader Nikos Androulakis on Thursday stated that PASOK will take action "as soon as new evidence arises" in the reports concerning the deadly train collision at Tempi, tabling a motion of no-confidence "against a dangerous government".
"Yesterday, we saw a cynical prime minister not hesitate to refute even his own self...his turnabout is not the result of honesty but of political fear brought about by the very large rallies on Sunday, which demonstrated the anger felt by Greek society over the way the unspeakable tragedy of Tempi was handled by the New Democracy government," he said.
"[Mitsotakis] told us that the Hellenic Parliament did not properly handle the way the Parliamentary investigation was conducted but has proposed its president for the highest office of state," Androulakis added.
"I make a commitment that as soon as new evidence arises from the reports which proves that, for the past two years, they have been deliberately misleading the Greek people, we will take the initiative to table a motion of no confidence against a dangerous government, which in this instance also has elected a cover-up," PASOK's leader underlined.
