FinMin Tsakalotos to present Greek growth model at Eurogroup
Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, at a meeting with his Eurogroup peers in Sofia on Friday, will present the Greek growth model for the post-memorandum period in Greece. The meeting started at 09.00 in Sofia.
According to the minister, the growth model will include, among others, actions to speed up the administration of justice, to enhance the efficiency of public administration and to improve the business environment. "This is our own development plan and its ownership is important to us," Tsakalotos stressed.
According to the agenda of the meeting, the heads of institutions will inform eurozone finance ministers about the progress made in the review and the path to a successful conclusion of the programme. As he noted, "on March 12, the Eurogroup welcomed the completion of the remainder of the progamme review, paving the way for the ESM's approval of the 6.7 billion euro fourth loan tranche and the release of the first disbursement of 5.7 billion euros."
Finally, according to the agenda, there will be a discussion at a technical level on the growth clause mechanism, as part of the possible medium-term debt relief measures and the post-programme surveillance framework.
