Juncker sees Greece exiting the programme soon

Juncker was addressing the Brussels Economic Forum.

Talking about economic and monetary union, Juncker said that "we should be proud of the creation of the single currency,” stressing that the euro does not divide Europe but protects it.

He pointed out that the euro not only brings together European economies but also European citizens, underlining that the Eurozone economy accounts for 85 pct of the EU economy.

Presenting the EU's priorities, the European Commission president stressed the need to complete the economic edifice of EMU and banking union. At the same time, he put emphasis on digital unification and the need to apply the pillar of social rights.
