Turkish drone infringes Athens FIR, flies over Kinaros island
A Turkish drone (UAV) entered the Flight Information Region (FIR) of Athens without submitting flight plans at 15:05 pm on Thursday.
The drone also violated Greece's national air space when it flew over Kinaros island in the Dodecanese Island group at 19,000 feet.
It was recognized and intercepted according to international rules.
The latest such incident over Kinaros was on the August 15 holiday (Dormition of the Virgin Mary), when a pair of F-16s had infringed the Athens FIR and flown over the island at 27,000 feet.
