Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Min Kikilias chairs meets on fire fighting season

Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias is chairing a meeting of all relevant bodies on the fire fighting season on Friday, at the ministry.

Upon his arrival for the meeting, Kikilias said: "Today is the first meeting on fire protection under the new government. Of course, as you know, it concerns all the co-competent ministries, security forces and organisations, it also concerns the municipalities that are actively participating, but also the regions and the citizens. I would like to address our fellow citizens asking, in yet another period of objective difficulties based on the climate crisis, that everyone help, that everyone contribute, in a team spirit, to a national effort to protect human lives, our forests, of course, but also people's properties".

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of State, Akis Skertsos, the Minister of Citizen Protection, Notis Mitarachi, the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, the Deputy Ministers of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Triandopoulos and Evangelos Tournas, the leadership of the Fire Brigade as well as officers of the Armed Forces, the Greek police, but also representatives of the regions and municipalities.
