1st Growthfund Summit-Kikilias: Resilience is the key word for the climate crisis

Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias highlighted the importance of resilience in his speech at the debate entitled "Green development, sustainability and resilience", held as part of the 1st Growthfund Summit. In his address on Tuesday, he noted that the crises have shown that resilience will be "the key word" for dealing with climate change, investments in prevention but also the "AEGIS" programme.

With reference to the new bill on Civil Protection, Kikilias underlined that this will establish "frontloaded investment in prevention," in a strategy that he said will enlist "forecasting, prevention and all the tools of technology or infrastructure prior to a crisis, so as to mitigate and lessen its repercussions when it comes."
