PM Mitsotakis in Brussels: Greece supports the proposed mid-term revision of the 2021-2027 MFF

Greece believes that the mid-term revision of the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) is balanced, Greek government sources noted on Thursday, as EU leaders meet in Brussels to discuss it, among other key issues.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who made doorstep statements earlier in the day upon his arrival in Brussels, later noted in his intervention that Greece supports the new proposal, despite the fact that the overall level of ambition has decreased, sources added.

The Greek premier noted that the revision of the 2021-2027 MFF must be approved as a package along with the financial aid to Ukraine.

Mitsotakis underlined that as far as Greece is concerned, being a first reception country for migrants and the EU's external border, funds for migration are a key priority, therefore the extra money added on to this specific budget is the minimum it can accept.
