PASOK-KINAL: PM's constant attacks show that PASOK is his strategic opponent

The opposition PASOK-Movement for Change party, in a comment about the prime minister's press conference at the 86th Thessaloniki International Fair on Sunday, said that his virtual silence on main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras in comparison with his "constant attacks on PASOK-KINAL" was an indication of who he considered "his strategic opponent".

"The New Democracy government and the previous SYRIZA-ANEL [government] represent the practices of the past and two pro-establishment models of governance that accumulate more problems for the citizens than those they promised to solve," the party added.

It noted that PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis had a strong and fresh mandate from the party members for an autonomous leadership course, while noting that both the prime minister and his nephew had played a key role "in the institutional divergence" of the phone tapping issue, while challenging the prime minister to reveal the reasons why the tapping of Androulakis' phone had been deemed "justifiable".

"Otherwise, it will be he that chooses whispers, providing food for toxicity," PASOK said.
