President Pavlopoulos: Polytechnic uprising a constant source of inspiration for Freedom
The anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising, this great moment of the resistance against the nationally criminal seven-year junta (1967-1974), is an anniversary of remembrance of the fighters and the victims that fell in the name of Democracy during this dark period, President of Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos stated on Saturday.
In his message for the Polytechnic uprising in 1973, Pavlopoulos said that it is a constant source of inspiration for Freedom, which for the Greek is an experimental principle in the sense that the Greeks are Nation and People of Freedom.
Therefore, the anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising reminds us that we owe to perpetually fight for Freedom and Democracy, and urbi et orbi a huge 'No' to any kind of tyranny and a great 'Yes' to the People and to their fundamental rights.
