Tsipras accuses government of a 'generalised attack against workers'
Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras on Thursday spoke of a "generalised attack against workers" as a result of the policy implemented by the government, following Tsipras' meeting with the board of the General Confederation of Employees of Greece (GSEE) ahead of the announcements and proposals that he will present at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).
According to party sources, Tsipras said that "the pressure that the people of labour are under is terrifying", explaining that this was why he considered this meeting imperative, "to exchange thoughts, to listen to your own proposals and your concerns, given that during my speech at the forum I do not want to only report some thoughts worked upon in party offices, but also seriously take into account the concerns of the people of production and labour."
