Kolonos - Sexual exploitation of 12-year-old girl: More men arrested

In the meantime, two men aged 39 and 55 years old, respectively, voluntarily turned themselves in to the authorities on Sunday and confessed to having chatted online during the summer with someone similar to the young girl, who is at the heart of the child rape and prostitution case.

The 34-year-old, who works in his family's business and is to appear before a public prosecutor on Monday, said he also spoke with the girl online. The two other men were interrogated under oath regarding their involvement by officers in the police Child Protection Department and then released while their role in the case is investigated further.

Also due to appear before an examining magistrate, to answer to a charge of pimping her daughter, is the child's mother, who is accused of colluding with those that sought to sexually exploit the girl. This is based on evidence that small but unexplained sums of money that have been paid into her bank account and that the girl's online profile created by 53-year-old Ilias Michos was activated via the home wifi, creating suspicion that she was handling the account jointly with the 53-year-old. She is expected to categorically deny the charges.
