Sakellaropoulou has successive meetings with presidents of Iceland, Finland
On the sidelines of the 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe held in Reykjavík, the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, on Tuesday had successive meetings with the President of Iceland, Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, as well as with the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö.
On the sidelines of the 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe held in Reykjavík, the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, on Tuesday had successive meetings with the President of Iceland, Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, as well as with the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö.
Sakellaropoulou congratulated her counterpart for the successful Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and pointed out that the Reykjavík Summit is an excellent opportunity to confirm the common principles and values of the European states.
On a bilateral level, Sakellaropoulou expressed her desire to strengthen Greece-Iceland relations, especially in the field of renewable energy sources, where the two countries can exchange know-how.
During the meeting with the President of Finland, Sakellaropoulou congratulated him on his country's accession to NATO and expressed Greece's desire for constructive cooperation and deepening of bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest.
