Gov't spokesperson Marinakis: The good prospects of the Greek economy were reaffirmed

Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis on Monday referred to the recent upgrade of Greece's credit rating by the European agency Scope Ratings, during the daily press briefing to the press.
"Another upgrade of the Greek debt from stable to positive came from the rating agency Scope Ratings, following the corresponding upgrade by Standard & Poor's last April. This latest upgrade once again confirms that the Greek government's policy yields results and the good prospects of the Greek economy," he said.
"Scope's report highlights, among others, the rapid reduction of public debt, the achievement of strong surpluses, the reduction of non-performing loans combined with disinvestment from the systemic banks and the adoption of structural reforms that strengthen the resilience and growth potential of the economy," he added.
He also underlined that the figures for the Greek labour market have similarly greatly improved in recent years, starting in New Democracy government's first four-year term, as reflected in a recent OECD report.
"According to the results of the report, the largest reduction in job insecurity from 2015 to 2022 occurred in Greece after 2019 and then in Spain - by more than 8 percentage points - reducing the gap relative to the average for OECD member-states. The reduction in Greece is due to a significant reduction in unemployment and income protection measures adopted during the pandemic," he said.
Referring to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' schedule, Marinakis said that the prime minister is to meet on Monday with the new board of the Competition Committee and at 20:00 he will attend and address an event for the signing of the contract for the construction of the Attica Region authority project "Athenian Riviera Urban Walk" at the Alimos Municipal Cinema.
On Tuesday at 10:00, the prime minister will chair the government's National Security Council at the Maximos Mansion.
On Wednesday, Mitsotakis will visit the Digital Governance Ministry, where there will be a presentation of the digital services implemented in recent months and the actions and reforms that will be launched in the near future.
