Greece's relations with Kingdom of Bahrain and with the Gulf countries "are a success story," Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said on Sunday, following a meeting with his counterpart from Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and the signature of two bilateral agreements.

"We have established a close bond, a bond that allows for mutual investment and communication between our peoples," Dendias said.

At the meeting held on the sidelines of the "Manama Dialogue" Forum 2022, Dendias and his counterpart signed agreements on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies and on diplomatic passports, so as to facilitate contacts between the two countries.

"In addition, during our bilateral meeting, we examined thoroughly our relations. I’m preparing the prime minister's visit to Bahrain as well as the signing of eight other Agreements between the Kingdom and the Hellenic Republic. Aside from that, we took a general overview of the world: the problems caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the problems in Europe, regarding security, and the supply chain, but also the problems in Africa, in sub-Saharan Africa, and in the Gulf. And in general, we made a thorough analysis of the current situation, Dendias said.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to brief his counterpart on the issues concerning the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean, and what Greece faces from Turkey’s provocative conduct, the Greek minister said.
