FM Dendias for the Day of Europe: Unique example of voluntary union of states
"Seventy-three years since the historic Schuman Declaration, the European Union of 27 state-members constitutes, despite the problems, a unique example of the voluntary union of states in the world's history," Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
He said that the aim now is the strengthening of the EU's institutions and the enhancement of its geopolitical position based on the common values and the union's solidarity in order to be a strong factor regionally and internationally with one single voice.
Dendias also said that Greece, today, a proud member of the EU due to Constatinos Karamanlis' insight, is in the condition to actively contribute to the security, growth and prosperity of the region by supporting the European prospect of the Western Balkans.
