Wildfire at Thassos island subsiding, says Fire Brigade
A fire that broke out on Wednesday at the area of Lefki on Thassos island in northern Greece is subsiding, said the Fire Brigade on Thursday.
Some 185 firefighters with 38 fire engines and 15 ground teams are still battling the blaze, assisted by 10 water-dowsing aircraft and 9 helicopters.
Residents in the area of Kinira, southeast, were evacuated earlier on Thursday via the 112 emergency number.
