Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis failed to provide any answers regarding the wire-tapping in Monday's interview, main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nasos Iliopoulos said in interviews on Tuesday with "Kokkino 105.5 FM" and "Radio Thessaloniki 94.5 FM". The cover-up was continuing, he added, and "this shows guilt".

"Mr. Mitsotakis said yesterday that the government has not used surveillance malware. If we believe this, there is a simple question: what has the government done to expose those who have used malware and hold them to account? Because it is now undisputed that such use has taken place. The answer is absolutely nothing," he said.

He also called on Mitsotakis "to appear on Friday in Parliament to answer the question raised by main opposition leader Alexis Tsipras, on whether not even one of the 33 people mentioned in Documento's report have been placed under surveillance by the National Intelligence Service."

"We are heading for elections and Mr. Mitsotakis has not yet answered why (PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos) Androulakis was being monitored," Iliopoulos added.

Asked about the agenda with which the country is heading to the elections, he underlined: "Beyond the wiretapping scandal, there are all the other big issues, the high prices, the energy crisis, health, issues, on the basis of which the citizens will be called to decide with their vote by the summer."

"And I am sure they will signal a political change," he said.

Iliopoulos called for mass participation in Wednesday's nationwide strike, saying: "Tomorrow society must send a message, the Mitsotakis deep state...must come to an end".

"There must be an end to all this, whether it concerns the economic looting of society or the undermining of the rule of law," he added.
