Tsapanidou: The reality for citizens differs greatly from the government narrative

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Popi Tsapanidou, in an interview with radio Alpha on Monday, said that "SYRIZA-PA has an "open line of communication with Greek society" and is "listening to its needs" and that the reality experienced by citizens is "very different to the government's narrative".

The crucial issue, she added, "is that the Mitsotakis government is taking large sums from all of us by its failure to control price-gouging and profiteering, so that it can then offer us a series of coupons for which it invents nice-sounding names...".

"In this context, I consider it very important for our fellow citizens to understand what they are vote for," Tsapanidou said, while adding that this was made difficult by the "lack of opportunity given to SYRIZA to present its positions, because we are not given time."

She said that SYRIZA's proposal is to "change the public money management model in order to give the citizens relief".

On the general elections, she said that it is too early to talk about specific post election collaborations, adding that "we should first see what the ...Greek people will decide".
